This is a small Priscacara/Cockerellites Liops is an uncommon fish from the split fish layer in the mid lake region of the Green River Formation of Fossil Lake in Wyoming the fossil fish in this area have a rich dark red/brown color and a more pronounced preservation than the near shore split fish layer. This specimen is approximately 3-3/4” long on a nice natural non trimmed piece of lake bottom silt stone that is 9”x5”. It does have a small fracture that does not go through to the back and has been repaired to keep it strong when displayed.
