This is a large thunder egg I dug from the Polka Dot Mine north of Madras, Oregon in the canyons near the community of Ashwood. I have shaped this piece into a polished freeform art piece suitable for display or it can be core drilled to the appropriate size for your tubing to make a small to medium fountain and a flat bottom can be cut to sit on. It has a band of translucent agate along with an area of common opal and has the characteristic picture rhyolite the “canyon rim” thunder eggs are known for.
this piece weighs over 9 pounds and is 7” at its widest polished face and 5” across the narrow polished face and 4” deep with a nice open cavity inside.
shipping and packaging is included in the price
note core drilling an cutting of the bottom is available at an additional cost on request.
