3” Canyon Rim Thunder Egg Half

This is a small half of a thunder egg I dug at the Polka Dot mine in Central Oregon. The small ones here used to not have much of a core in them and were avoided but in the current diggings I have cut quite a few of them and they are quite nice. It is fully polished with a complicated core of translucent agate, common opal, small jasper spears (tan with small spots) and some limonite plume in the center (orange). The shell is rhyolite and the back the thunder egg is complete and is 3” long and 3” wide.
