This polished half of a double thunder egg I dug at the Polka Dot Mine north of Madras in Central Oregon. It has the shape of a heart and has a beautiful translucent agate core with common opal containing the trademark dots of the agate at this mine and in the larger chamber it has a center of limonite. This item is over 16 lbs and is approximately 11” long, 8” wide and a maximum of 3-1/2” deep.

limonite is a family of iron oxides and in this case appears a orange/brown material inside the agate core.
