This a geode pair of a highly prized Las Choyas geode or “coconut”. This one has a siderite shell made up of iron carbonate also known as “brown rimmed”. The interior of this geode is has unique and unusual formations of white calcite arranged into plates covering the interior in all directions. I cracked this geode rather then cutting it to preserve the crystal structure in its entirety instead of cutting through some of them. These geodes are mined in the Chihuahuan desert of Mexico. Each side of this geode is approximately 3” x 3-1/2”
